The IDWC is a forum for Idaho Democratic Women to focus on issues of concern, to increase involvement of women in the Democratic Party, to contribute to and to work for Democratic candidates, and to encourage and prepare more women to run for and be elected to public offices at all levels of government.

2017 IDWC Annual Meeting concludes with the election of three new Regional Directors and the selection of our 2017 Dottie Stimpson Award Winner.

Keynote Address

To begin, we would like to thank Christine Tidden for giving the keynote address this year. Christine is the Policy Director for Idaho Asset Building Network and Close the Gap Idaho. She spoke about the status of healthcare in Idaho and the implications regarding the current efforts to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act aka “Obama Care”. We appreciate her knowledge and advocacy regarding this issue.

In addition, we are also excited to announce that Donna Pence was selected to receive the Dottie Stimpson Award for 2017. Donna is a Blaine County Democrat. She was elected to the District 26B House Seat in 2004 and served 6 terms before retiring in 2016. She is still active in the party, currently serving as Gooding County Chairman and Vice Chairman of Legislative Dist 26. New Regional Directors

Finally, we have three new Regional Directors to announce.  The following women stepped forward to fill existing vacancies. They are Pat Hartwell for Region 3, Karen Bliss for Region 5 and Julie Dahlgren for Region 7. We congratulate and thank them for their willingness to lead.
