2017 IDWC Annual Meeting Concludes
We would like to thank all attendees for showing their support at the recently concluded 2017 IDWC Annual Meeting. It was a wonderful meeting with new and old faces who came together to learn more about how to elect Democratic women to public office after the election of Donald J. Trump.

To begin, we would like to thank Christine Tidden for giving the keynote address this year. Christine is the Policy Director for Idaho Asset Building Network and Close the Gap Idaho. She spoke about the status of healthcare in Idaho and the implications regarding the current efforts to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act aka “Obamacare”.

In addition, we are also excited to announce that Donna Pence was selected to receive the Dottie Stimpson Award for 2017. Donna is a Blaine County Democrat. She was elected to the District 26B House Seat in 2004 and served 6 terms before retiring in 2016. She is still active in the party, currently serving as Gooding County Chairman and Vice Chairman of Legislative District 26. We are honored to recognize Donna Pence for her advocacy and tireless dedication to women’s issues. Read Donna’s nomination letter.
Finally, we have three new Regional Directors to announce. The following women stepped forward to fill existing vacancies. They are Pat Hartwell for Region 3, Karen Bliss for Region 5 and Julie Dahlgren for Region 7. We congratulate and thank them for their willingness to lead.
