2017 IDWC Annual Breakfast Meeting
Our current political climate is fraught with uncertainty. Yet, it also offers an opportunity. Recent actions like the Women’s March on Washington have exposed the deep-seated desire of millions of women (and many men) to organize against our current political leadership. It is a chance to effect change by taking a greater role in the political process. Together, we can change Idaho’s Government from the inside out. The Idaho Democratic Women’s Caucus is working with all Idahoans to elect more women into elected office.
Our Annual Membership Meeting will be held this year on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the Hampton Inn, 495 S. Capitol Blvd., in Boise at 8 am. Tickets are $25.00 per person and can be bought on Eventbrite. Our featured speaker will be Christine Tiddens, who is the Policy Director for Idaho Asset Building Network and Close the Gap Idaho. She will be discussing the recent bill in Congress to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. In addition to enjoying a great breakfast and discussion, members will help elect individuals to fill IDWC leadership positions.
Only members in good standing will be able to vote during the meeting. Membership dues are $20. Seniors (65 and older) and students can join for $10. Attendees can either join or renew their membership by completing the Registration Form and paying their membership dues. Our membership dues are the lifeblood of the organization and help fund our activities of getting more Democratic women into public office.
Additionally, we are holding elections for the following positions: Secretary, Treasurer, Region 1 Director, Region 3 Director, Region 5 Director, and Region 7 Director. If you want to be considered for a position, you must submit your name and a brief summary of your qualifications to Barbara Harris. If you seek to hold a Regional position, please include the region. Region information is available on our Officers page.
Remember that we are seeking nominees for the Dottie Stimpson Award. The award honors an IDWC member who has demonstrated perseverance, persistence, patience, passion, commitment, and leadership. The award is named for IDWC co-founder Dottie Stimpson. You can submit a nominee by contacting our Committee Chair: Shirley McFaddan with the nomination details. All nominees must be active IDWC Members. Submissions are due by March 1.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our organization via email or on Facebook.
